Scott Milliken, MPA

Scott Milliken has been with DPD since 1992. Scott started as the Passaic County Lead Trainer and in 2010 became the Executive Director of DPD. Scott earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Seton Hall in 1998, a Graduate Certificate in Non-profit Management in 1997 and a BA degree from Syracuse University in Psychology. Scott has been a Board member of Visiting Health Services of New Jersey, Saint Joseph’s Hospital and is a Past Grand Knight and active member of the Joseph F. Lamb Council #5510 Knights of Columbus in Oak Ridge. Scott continues his certification as a trainer in CPR and First Aid from the American Red Cross and is an active member of the People Need Friends Program.

Joanna Miller, MNM

Joanna Miller has been with DPD since 1997. Joanna started as a Pre-Service trainer at DPD and has also been the Director of Information Systems and Quality Management. Joanna has been the Associate Executive Director since 2007. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in 2007, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Seton Hall University in 1999 and a BA Degree from Syracuse University in 1994. Joanna is a Board Member for the New Jersey Association of Community Providers. Joanna is also a certified First Aid and CPR instructor for the American Red Cross.

Rocco Zappile, CPA, MBA

Rocco Zappile has been a member of our Executive Team since 1989 when he joined our organization after many years of experience in public accounting and for profit corporations. He earned his license as a Certified Public Accountant in April of 1987 and is an active member of the AICPA and NJSCPA. He also received his MBA Degree in Finance from Montclair State University in January of 1995. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Joseph F. Lamb Council 5510.

Christopher Brancato, MA

Christopher Brancato has been our Director of Development and Public Relations since 2010 and has been with DPD in various capacities since 2003. He was previously the Director of Fitzpatrick House Group Home in Pompton Lakes and before that, was a Residential Counselor at Murray House in Clifton. Chris earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology in 2010 and helped co-lead DPD’s “Respect” Support Group. Chris is a Board Member at the Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Intervention Services (DASI), a Board Member at the Jefferson Township Chamber of Commerce, a member of the NJ Association of Fundraising Professionals, a Member of the Knights of Columbus (#3835 Our Lady of the Highway Council), the leader of DPD’s Scout Troop #1965 and a member of DPD’s People Need Friends Volunteer Group. Chris and his wife, Jaclyn were recipients of the 2013 Diocese of Paterson, Vivere Christus Award for service.

Anne Williams, RN, CDDN

Anne Williams, Registered Nurse joined the DPD in 2008. She received her nursing degree in 1990 from the College of Staten Island, City University of New York. In 2014, she became a Certified Developmental Disability Nurse and is currently working towards her BSN at Thomas Edison State College.  Anne started her career as a staff nurse at Staten Island University Hospital, where she also worked as Nurse Care Coordinator of the Medical-Surgical Unit. Anne was employed as a Rehabilitation Nurse for St. Vincent’s/Catholic Medical Center Staten Island, as well as a Nursing Liaison for their home care services. Prior to joining DPD, Anne worked at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains in the Cardiac Intermediate Care/Telemetry Unit as well as per-diem Hospital Supervisor. Currently, Anne is a certified American Red Cross CPR and First Aid instructor, member of the Developmental Disabilities Nursing Association and is active in many of DPD’s social events.

Patricia Barrett

Patricia Barrett has been part of DPD since she first volunteered at Murray House as a college student eventually becoming one of Father Wehrlen’s live-in group home staff.  She worked as a counselor at DPD’s Camp Alexander during the summer of 1976 and worked at DPD’s Navagh Center in Paterson from 1976 to 1981, where Pat was a teacher of remedial reading and vocational skills. She then served as director of the Navagh Center from 1979 to 1981.  She left the Navagh Center to raise her children and worked as a part-time youth minister at Saint Thomas the Apostle parish in Oak Ridge.  Pat is one of the first volunteers in the then newly established “People Need Friends” program in 1989 when she and another volunteer developed and continue to coordinate the “C.A.R.E.” (Catholic Adult Religious Education) program in the DPD.  In 1995 she began teaching theology at Pope John XXIII High School in Sparta until June 2014.  At Pope John, she also taught computer applications to seniors for three years, served as a Faculty Advisor for Search Programs, and was the Theology Department Chairperson during the 2013-2014 year.  In 1977 Pat earned a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in Special Education from Jersey City State University and graduated as a Certified Teacher of the Handicapped for grades Kindergarten through grade 12.  She holds a Master’s Degree, also with honors, in Human Services Leadership: Educational Technology from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Morristown.  Pat completed a Certificate in Pastoral Administration in 2005, also at St. Elizabeth’s College and completed the Diocese of Paterson’s three year program with a Certification in Evangelization in 2014.

Hope Eder comes to DPD with over 10 years of Human Resources experience. She joins us from Starwood Hotels & Resorts where her previous roles included Director of Human Resources and Director of Labor Relations. Hope’s experience in HR began within the non-profit industry at Covenant House of New York after attaining her undergraduate degree, and again in her later years, with ARC of Rockland. Prior to rejoining the not-for-profit industry Hope has worked in financial services, media, retail and hospitality. Hope holds a Bachelor degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, graduate certificates in Human Resources Management and Leadership and Management, as well as her Master Degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland. Hope is a proud member of The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE).

Kris joined DPD in 1998 after earning her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Montclair State University. She worked for many years at Gruenert Adult Training Center as an Area Supervisor, was Associate Director of Wallace House group home for four years and was promoted to Personal Plan (IHP) Coordinator at Gruenert Center in 2011. Kris enjoyed her role in developing an updated system for the presentation of IHP's at Gruenert Center. She is now DPD's first Support Coordinator for the new DDD Supports Program and looks forward to the opportunity to serve additional individuals in the community.
