John Taggart was a lifelong servant of the church and supporter of the Department for Persons with Disabilities. On July 23, 1992, John passed away quietly after battling cancer. John's family wanted to pay tribute to their father. In 1`996 the John Taggart Memorial Golf Outing was started. John's youngest son, Terence, led event for 26 years with the help from his family, friends, Knights of Columbus, and the community.
In 2023, John's grandchildren, Shannon, Taylor, and Joey, began co-chairing the JTMGO. All proceeds will benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities served at DPD. Continuing this legacy is the greatest gift his family could give in his memory.
