DPD's Saturdays at the Center (SATC) program is designed specifically for young adults (18-40) with intellectual and developmental disabilities who reside in the community. SATC offers weekend socialization, recreational activities, community trips, educational opportunities, information about group home and independent living, like skills training and more.
Respite time for caregivers will be provided as the program is well supervised by experienced staff and volunteers.
SATC gathers twice throughout the year at DPD's Gruenert Center in Lake Hopatcong for 12 week sessions, from 10:00AM – 2:00PM. Tuition for the entire program is $120 plus minimal additional fees for special activities.
We are seeking interested individuals and volunteers for our next session.
Please contact Pat, SATC Coordinator, at (973)440-0983 or email to [email protected] for further information.
"The Saturdays At The Center program is one of the best experiences that Tommy has had in a long time. Every week, he looked forward to seeing his new friends and was eager to participate in the exciting activity that the wonderfully caring staff had planned for the day. At the SATC program, he has had many opportunities to learn new skills while creating lasting friendships with other participants. Whether he was learning ceramics or cooking new recipes, he left every session with a smile on his face and counted the days until he could return again. He truly cannot wait for the next session to start! - The Moran Family
